The Ojai Valley Directory was purchased by its current owner, Ren L. Adam, in 1992 as part of the Ojai Valley News group of publications. In 2000, Adam sold the News and the Visitors Guide, choosing to retain and independently operate the Directory – allowing it to evolve with a singular focus on serving the Ojai Valley.
Since joining the Association of Directory Publishers (ADP) in 2003, the Directory has consistently been honored by its peers, earning Gold Book awards every year. In 2006, it received the prestigious Gold Book Publisher of the Year award – recognizing the Ojai Valley Directory as the very best among independent directories worldwide. To date, the Directory has earned approximately 45 Gold Book awards across all areas of directory publishing and marketing.

Each annual edition of the Directory is the result of the vision, dedication, and hard work of just three people:
Victoria Adam, Co-Publisher, graphic artist extraordinaire, sales associate, and all-around force of nature
Teresa Smith, General Manager, Chief Salesperson, Queen of Pagination, and expert herder of cats
Ren Adam (the cat), Co-Publisher in charge of distribution, with additional involvement in sales
Beyond producing the Directory, the team remains deeply engaged in the community they serve. Teresa Smith currently serves on the executive committee of the Ojai Valley Community Hospital and is active in the Ojai Valley Chamber of Commerce Business Referral Group. Victoria Adam serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for the Ojai Valley Chamber of Commerce. Ren Adam contributes through service with the Rotary Club of Ojai.
